17 April 2024, 17:00 – 20:30
Room 319, School of Law Building, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
(Third Floor, School of Law Building, University Campus)
We live in an era of multiple transformations feeding a growing number of crises. The over-exploitation of natural resources had pushed the world to a climate crisis, the economic system had become over-financialized, value chains had become too fragile and technological and knowledge systems had been threatening the freedom of citizens. On top of that, the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s war against Ukraine have posed new external and internal challenges for the EU economic governance.
The EU’s response to these challenges has been multidimensional: the reform of its overall economic governance framework is being accompanied by the adoption of several policy strategies setting new goals and timetables, by a series of legislative initiatives aiming at modernizing its regulatory framework, as well as by the establishment of additional financial instruments and processes.
The goal of the Workshop is to shed some light on these institutional and policy developments.
More details are provided in the Workshop’s Program.
