On Thursday, 22 May at 20:00, students are invited to participate in “Two Worlds, One Campus: Student Perspectives Across the Atlantic”, an open intercultural discussion hosted at Room A, Department of Political Sciences, Aristotle University Campus.

The event is organized by the MA in European Studies (ESIS Master Program) and brings together ESIS students and students from the United States in an open dialogue on student life, inequalities, mobility, identity, and future aspirations.

Through discussion and personal experiences, participants will explore how educational systems, economic realities, social expectations, and cultural environments shape everyday student life on both sides of the Atlantic.

The discussion will be structured around three thematic sessions:

Everyday Student Life & University Experience

A discussion on academic pressure, balancing studies and work, student housing, affordability, social life, campus culture, and future expectations after graduation.

Inequalities, Opportunities & Access

Participants will reflect on social mobility, educational opportunities, healthcare access, financial insecurity, and the ways social and economic background affect student experiences.

Perceptions, Mobility & Migration

The final session focuses on stereotypes, media influence, migration choices, identity, and the different ways Europeans and Americans perceive opportunity, belonging, and the future.

The event will also include an interactive activity where participants map where they come from, where they study now, and where they imagine themselves in the future, encouraging reflection on aspirations, mobility, and identity.
